Experience
Software Engineer
Currently working on Facebook Groups building some cool features!
Software Engineering Intern
I spent my time this internship writing the first iteration for streamer schedules for streamer pages on Facebook Gaming!
Software Engineering Intern
Working at Ripple was a great learning experience me, and surprisingly the biggest company I've worked for so far! I worked on RippleNet, their solution to better cross border payments and got a ton of exposure to distributed systems, consensus, and message queue services.
Backend Developer Intern
During my time here, I worked on several of Kik's Go and Java GRPC microservices. At the time, the company was going through a rewrite of the app which included moving Kin Marketplace out of beta.
I developed critical server infrastructure supporting the release version of Kin Marketplace within the app. The result was better support for kin earn and spend opportunities, a much faster and more maintainable chat assets service, and reduced point of failure in the Kin transaction flow.
Software Developer Intern
Secret Mission Software is a growing software consulting company so while I was here, I got a ton of exposure to different work and was a critical member of the team. Most of my time was allocated to a project with a makeup startup based in LA called Hush.
My job was to work on the Android side of a social media app they wanted to release. I ended up writing all of the instant messaging and notifications features on the app, which included hooking it up to an XMPP service.
I also got to work with React on a personal finance app. Although the app wasn't finished by the end of the work term, I contributed to feature planning, and architecture design.
Software Developer Intern
At Sensors and Software, I developed a browser interface for a research-oriented ground penetrating radar. The device could hook up to 8 transducers and simulanteously collect data while running. The work I did here involved streaming data from the radar using websockets, and building the configuration editors.
I also had the opportunity to write a Python program that would autogenerate usage analytics reports of the different GPR products available.
Projects
Autogardener
Autogardener was a project I worked on for a few months, inspired by me wanting to spice up my cooking. Soon enough, I not only had hot peppers, but also a fully automated gardening device. This project included a dashboard to monitor and water the plants, even a voice control feature!
Playmoji
Playmoji is an emoji-to-playlist converter that we built at EngHack 2019. Using a series of emojis that's on your mind, your favourite songs, and some magic with the Spotify API, we generate a brand new playlist just for you!
